Training Material for Small Group Leaders

The 50 Days in the Spirit Leader training series aims to provide small group leaders with both a foundation as well as a resource for answering questions from group members later on during the small group lessons.

Small Group Videos

A key component of the week’s lesson is the teaching video. The topic is introduced through a personal story (1-2 minutes) and then further developed by teaching from Pastor Mark Hughes (7-8 minutes). The teaching points correspond with a fill-in-the-blank section in that week’s lesson in the Study Guide.

Ideas for Children

Ideas for Jr. High Youth

Our Jr. High model includes both a large group teaching and small group component each week (our students split into age groups for the second part of the evening).  For 50 Days in the Spirit, we condensed the adult material into 4 weeks, using the teaching video for Lesson 1 and then customized talks (plus testimony video) for Lessons 2-4.

These testimony videos were shown as part of our weekend services to highlight that the Holy Spirit interacts with each of us at an individual level. It is encouraging to know that we aren’t the only ones who have experienced questions or things that have caused us to hesitate – God is marvellous in His ability to gently bring us along!
